UP FOR SALE: *RARE* 181/400 "WESTWARD BOUND" BISQUE STATUE Vintage German Porcelain Statue: "Westward Bound" Covered Wagon Made By Gerhard Skrobek in Dedication to W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik1971 , #181 / 400This is a large piece made of creamy white porcelain. Only 400 of these were ever made. The design features an ox-drawn covered wagon. A man and woman with a baby sittin on the wagon, while another man walks alongside. It sits on a dark wood base with a brass plaque. The piece itself is signed “Skrobek.”This piece is mostly in fantastic shape with very little signs of use and minor cosmetic scratches, scuffs and dust. Please see pictures and judge the items condition for your self as these are considered part of the description. Item will be packed with care and include a tracking number.

About The Artist
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Gerhard Skrobek (May 22, 1922 – July 1, 2007) is best known as the premier artisan of Hummel figurines since the Second World War.
Skrobek was born in Leobschütz, in Upper Silesia and studied art in Berlin. Skrobek worked for the Goebel company in Rödental, Germany between 1951 and 2002 and designed many of the figurines eagerly sought by collectors. [Source: Wikipedia]
