This is a very unique hand carved wooden bowl/vessel.  Honey Oak in color and carved in the shape of an Oyster Shell. Artist signed on bottom "TREUTING"
Measures 10 1/2" Long x 6 1/2 Wide x 3 3/4" deep. Beautiful bowl with tight lines, lots of character. These are getting harder and harder to find. This would make a great addition to any collection and/or gift.

About the Artist: Frank Treuting (1921-2003)  Treuting was known for his burl bowls from Local Woods near Seguoia National Park. He lived in Three Rivers, CA.  He was a student and also assisted Carroll Barnes in several of his large projects, which included the 25 ton College of the Sequoias "Giant" the City of Dinuba's "Hand and Grapes," and the 16 1/2 foot statue of the legendary Paul Bunyan, carved from a 25 foot downed giant sequoia tree, that today stands in front of the Three Rivers Historical Museum.  Frank is famous for his unique burl wood creations used with local woods such as giant Sequoia, oak, and buckeye.
